I can offering whittling and wood carving workshops for families, group of friends or as training courses for teachers. Please let me know what kind of workshop you are looking for.
My wood carving studio in Buckfastleigh TQ11 0DB is is set up for teaching small groups of children and adults. With a maximum group size of 4, I can give individual help and support.
I can help and advise you on designing your carving and show how to use the woodcarving tools. and on tools sharpening.
I specially welcome children and teenagers as part of group booking with accompanying adults

Limited to 3 participants, this 1 day course takes place in my woodcarving studio in Buckfastleigh, South Devon which is set-up for teaching children and adults.
The focus of this practical one day course for home educators, parents, grandparents and teachers, is on how to teach children whittling and basic woodwork skills in a creative and safe way. My background is in sculpture and creative education and I enjoy showing and encouraging educators how working with wood can become a tool to discover the world of sculpture. Experience shows that practical, hands-on skill-building activities support children's development and self confidence.
The core of this workshop is the artistic whittling of various projects (see photos) all suitable for beginners, adults and children. I will show and explain how to use and sharpen the tools. In a further stage I show how you can teach and demonstrate your skills to the children. By the end of the workshop you will have made a number of projects that you will take home, together with the skills and knowledge for you to make these with children.
My teaching experience is based on over 22 years of teaching whittling, woodcarving and other three dimensional arts and crafts to adults and children. I love sharing my experience and enthusing others in working with wood.
Let me know about your particular setting and I can take this into account in the course.
